Community Invited to Explore the Outdoors at Way Park this Sunday
The Northfield community is invited to “Explore the Outdoors” from 1-4 this Sunday at Way Park. The event, organized by Friends of Way Park, will have activities for kids from pre-school to middle school.
Several local organizations are participating. St. Olaf’s Science Alliance will have green energy demonstrations and hands-on experiments. The Northfield YMCA is organizing fun games. Kite and pinwheel making, letterboxing, a scavenger hunt, making mini-green houses and more will make it a busy and fun afternoon. Families can also check out playground equipment options for a future Way Park playground upgrade.

“’Explore the Outdoors’ was a theme in a lot of PBS programming this month and they produced materials for parks to put on events like this one,” explained Anne Berry, one of the organizers. “We thought it would be a great way for the community to come together, now that winter is finally over.”
The event is free and open to all.
