There are 47 million people currently living in the US “under the poverty line.” After giving an overview of our national picture, Jim will concentrate on what he knows well – poverty here in Rice Co. He will talk about the increase in poor households in Rice Co. during the past decade in relation to the recession, and he will introduce the CAC’s strategic plan which aims to develop poverty reduction plans.
