The new Caldecott Club at the public library celebrates award winning children's books. The Caldecott medal was named in honor of nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. It is awarded annually by the Association of Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children. http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/alsc/awardsgrants/bookmedia/caldecottmedal/caldecottmedal.cfm
Carleton student volunteers will present this program Saturday mornings starting January, 15 at 11 am. The seven week club will read and learn about the wonderful books and illustrators who have won the award. This session will end Sat. Feb. 26th.
The club is for all ages! Anyone who appreciates outstanding books is invited to this fun, free program. Families are especially encouraged to come.
