Ranbow Community Celebration and Forum: Marriage Equality From the Heart

The 4th Annual Rainbow Community Celebration is scheduled for 7pm Saturday February 11, at 1st UCC Northfield, and will include an interfaith forum on marriage equality with a dessert reception following.

The panel of speakers features Javen Swanson, M. Div. and spokesperson with OutFront Minnesota; Phil Duran, founding member of the MN Lavender Bar Association; and student representatives from St. Olaf and Carleton College speaking on the topic “Marriage Equality From the Heart”.

The forum is followed by a dessert extravaganza and showcase of efforts by different denominations to stand up to discrimination. Funds raised from the evening were unanimously voted by event planners to go to ‘Minnesotans United For All Families’ for its work on equal rights issues, especially marriage equality.

Doors open for seating at 6:30pm and tickets are $10 and $5 for students, available at local churches, both colleges, and Monkey See, Monkey Read bookstore. More information found at www.uunorthfield.org.
