
It has been a long winter of inactivity for local reptiles. The official term for this state in reptiles is brumation, roughly the same as hibernation. Now that the spring sun is warming the ponds and ground these reptile are emerging to carry on their lives. Join the fun with guest naturalist Amber Brossard and her collection of live amphibians and reptiles to learn about their natural history, specific adaptations, and discover where these animals have spent the winter. After the program, take a walk around River Bend and look for local amphibians and reptiles that are just emerging for the warm summer months.
