Laura Baker Services Association, the nationally regarded Northfield-based campus that houses and serves people with developmental disabilities, will kick off its upcoming capital campaign: Inspiring Possibilities / Realizing Dreams. The campaign will officially launch with a community event on Bridge Square in downtown Northfield on Thursday, July 28, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The capital campaign is seeking to raise $1.3 million to renovate two existing residence halls and create two new cottages on Laura Baker’s Oak Street campus.
At the July 28 event, Inspiring Possibilities / Realizing Dreams will find expression in performances by the Laura Baker Choir and the Northfield Youth Choirs. Tim McNiff of KARE 11-TV and a daily guest on KYMN Radio’s “Morning Show with Jeff Johnson” will host the event along with radio legend Wayne Eddy and Jeff Johnson. KYMN Radio of Northfield will broadcast the event live. The event will serve as a thank you to the Northfield community for the years of support and partnership. It will also introduce Laura Baker Services Association and its mission to those who are not familiar with the organization. People can also learn about the pressing need for new and upgraded facilities.
