On Saturday, June 23, Riverwalk Market Fair in historic Northfield will again treat visitors to locally grown produce, delicious pastries and an array of fine art and fine craft. This week’s Fair showcases a family who sells pasture-raised chickens, a photographer whose work includes images of Northfield, and a musical group that plays Nordic folk music.
Featured farmer and artist
This Saturday’s featured farmers are Elizabeth O’Sullivan and Ian Rhoades, the owners of Auntie Annie’s Fields (www.auntieanniesfields.com) located across from Nerstrand’s Big Woods Heritage Forest. The farm, named after O'Sullivan's great-aunt Anne, specializes in free-range chickens, which graze on a clover and ryegrass pasture. “We believe that people’s health is connected to the health of the soil, plants and animals that feed them, so we use natural, chemical-free methods, and our animals know fresh air and sunshine,” O'Sullivan says.

Featured Artist Dennis McClintock (www.mcclintockphotographics.com) started his fine art photography in Texas and now resides in Northfield. He has displayed his crisp, yet painterly photographic images at Riverwalk Market Fair since the Fair started three years ago. McClintock photographs landscapes, historical buildings and other manmade structures, nature and wildlife. Recently his art was on display in the Northfield Arts Guild gallery’s “Northfield Ties” exhibit.

Musical entertainers span generations
Youthful songwriter and performer Keeley Nichole Susienka’s musical taste ranges from folk to alternative rock. Her performance reflects early childhood influences such as Tracy Chapman and Elvis Costello and her current favorites are Ingrid Michaelson, Ani DiFranco, and Tegan and Sara.
In addition, visitors can hear Multe, an acoustic Nordic folk music that has been a mainstay of Riverwalk Market Fair. The group, named after the Norwegian cloudberry, consists of accordion players "Dag" Wornson and Jon Thore Bjork as well other musicians who have a passion for sharing Nordic folk music.
