Faribault Chamber Shooting: Police Seek Info on Vehicles

Detectives are seeking information on two vehicles that were seen driving into the parking lot of the Faribault Chamber of Commerce Friday.

The Faribault Police Department is looking for the public’s assistance in identifying persons in the area of the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce on Friday, Dec. 23rd between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Two are people died in Faribault after what police are investigating as a murder-suicide.

Pictured in images released Thursday are two vehicles which police say were seen driving into the parking lot of the Chamber of Commerce building around the time of the incident. The occupants of these two vehicles are not considered suspects. Detectives would like to identify and interview the occupants to aid in establishing a timeline of events.

Friday's fatal shooting

On Friday at 12:15 p.m., Faribault police officers responded to the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce after a citizen reported seeing two persons down inside the building.

Arriving officers discovered the deceased bodies of an adult male and adult female behind a desk.

No other Chamber employees were present or injured, according a news release. Officers found a firearm at the scene. The Faribault Police Department is being assisted by the Rice County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
