Fish Hooks Found In Dog's Food In Austin, Minnesota

A homeowner found their dog eating the meat but it appears the dog hadn't consumed the fish hook, according to police.

MOWER COUNTY, MN — Police in Austin, Minnesota are warning pet owners to pay close attention when their dog is outside following a horrifying discovery. On Saturday afternoon, officers took a report that someone had thrown chunks of meat with fish hooks in them into a yard of a residence in the southwestern part of the city. The homeowner found their dog eating the meat but it appears the dog hadn't consumed any fish hooks, according to police.

The incident in Austin came just days after one dog died and another was put down about an hour away in the Cannon Falls area in a suspected dog poisoning.
