Football Friday: Northfield at Red Wing

LAST WEEK

Northfield (2-1, 1-1 Missota) picked up its first conference win of the season, 33-20 over New Prague; Red Wing (2-1, 1-1 Missota) was shut out by Holy Angels 36-0.

PLAYMAKERS

-Raiders offensive line (Northfield)

Four Northfield rushers each gained 50 or more yards against New Prague, and that doesn't happen unless the offensive line is winning the battle in the trenches.

-Eric Shepley (Northfield, wide receiver)

The Raiders a definitely a run-first team, but Shepley's presence—he has eight catches for 118 yards on the season—is enough to keep defenses honest.

RAIDERS WIN IF …

They can continue to eat up real estate—and clock—with their ground attack. The Raiders top three backs—Devon Walker, Adam Woitalla and Cody Fugate—have combined for 518 yards and seven touchdowns on the season.

WINGERS WIN IF …

They can regroup. After a somewhat surprising 2-0 start, the team took a step back last week in a lopsided loss to Holy Angels. Red Wing also needs to take better care of the football after having a pair of fumbles run back for touchdowns last week.
