Football Friday: Northfield Raiders at Chaska

After scraping out a road win in their opener, the head to Chaska on Friday to open the Missota Conference season.

LAST WEEK

Northfield (1-0, 0-0 Missota Conference) edged St. Paul Central 11-9; Chaska (0-1, 0-0 Missota) got drilled by Rochester Century 34-7 at home.

PLAYMAKERS

• Devon Walker/Adam Woitalla/Cody Fugate (Northfield, running backs)

The three-headed Raiders backfield monster combined for 153 yards on 28 carries as the committee approach was effective out of the gate.

• Thomas Wise (Northfield, wide receiver)

Wise had Northfield's only touchdown—a 79-yarder on his only catch of the game—and also caught an option pass for the two-point conversion to account for eight of the Raiders' 11 points.

• Kolby Seiffert (Chaska, wide receiver/kick returner)

Seiffert scored the Hawks' lone touchdown a week ago in their season-opening loss to Century.

RAIDERS WIN IF …

They can cut down on the turnovers and other miscues that made last Thursday's game tighter than it had to be.

HAWKS WIN IF …

They can make a drastic turnaround on defense after allowing nearly 350 yards on the ground and almost 500 yards of offense against the Panthers a week ago.
