At 11 a.m. Thursday, gas ranged from a low of $3.99 per gallon—at Holiday and Super America, both on Highway 3, and at Casey General Store, on Woodley Street—to $4.29.

Northfield drivers are not alone in feeling the pain of higher gas prices. The Star Tribune says fuel prices in the Twin Cities jumped as much as 40 cents overnight Thursday.
Higher prices for oil and temporary shutdowns of refineries in Indiana and Illinois are mentioned as the causes for the price spike, the Star Tribune says.
