The Gear ReSource Outfitters Announces Business Expansion and Relocation

After a unanimous vote from the Dundas City Council on Monday night regarding the leasing of the historic engine house adjacent to the Archibald Mill, The Gear ReSource Outfitters announced that their business will begin operating out of the building starting in 2015.

The retail portion of the business is liquidating their inventory to prepare for the change in business direction. “We are looking forward to expanding our fleet of rental equipment to include items like tents, sleeping pads, backpacks, camping hammocks and more, while having the basic necessities for sale such as camping fuel, waterproof matches and first aid kits,” said owner Robert Stai.

The 2 ½ year old company specializing in outdoor recreation and adventures will be expanding their rental and adventure business to three locations starting in 2015. With headquarters moving to Dundas, the business will have secondary locations in Northfield and Faribault that will serve the Cannon River as well as the local bike trails.

New for 2015, The Gear ReSource Outfitters also announced that they will be renting bicycles. Currently the company offers kayak and standup paddleboard rentals during the summer, rock climbing and backpacking trips in the fall and snowshoe adventures including moonlight and winery or brewery snowshoe tours in the winter.

“We are excited to see how our company is growing and changing to fit the needs of not only our communities, but our visitors and tourist as well! We are passionate about the outdoors and we strive to encourage everyone to find a way to enjoy it too!”, owner Nicole Stai enthusiastically stated.

While the main headquarters for The Gear ReSource Outfitters will be in Dundas, the company intends to operate secondary locations out of Babcock park, near the DJJD rodeo grounds, in Northfield, and in North Alexander Park in Faribault.
