Girls Nite Out: Now and Then
Northfield's downtown business district is expected to be packed on Friday night with residents attending the seventh annual Girls Nite Out. Patch has what you need to know about tonight's festivities, as well as a look back at the 2012 event.
The seventh annual Girls Nite Out promises to be one of the biggest events in downtown Northfield this year. That's because the event has a history of being a success.
During each of the previous six GNO events, hundreds of residents took part in shopping and restaurant deals and in GNO-themed events. Then, after retailers closed their doors, folks who purchased GNO tickets were invited to attend a party at The Grand Event Center.
This year's GNO activities begin at 5 p.m. Friday.

A LOOK BACK AT LAST YEAR'S GNO
Posted above are photos from last year's GNO that appeared on Patch. Here is the story that accompanied those photos:
Hospitality and bargains greeted scores of women—and a a fair share of men—taking part in the sixth annual Girls Nite Out event in downtown Northfield Friday night.
Despite threatening skies, a few retailers set their goods outside to welcome shoppers.
From 5 to 9 p.m., participants were treated to in-store discounts, dining specials, refreshments and, in some cases, massages and flowers. After the downtown retailers closed, those who purchased GNO tickets were invited to a party at The Grand Event Center.
A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will donated to Ruth’s House in Faribault.
