The Great American Backyard Campout comes to Northfield

Join us for the Great American Backyard Campout next weekend, June 27 &28

Register for the Great American Backyard Campout before the deadline at noon on Wednesday, June 24.

This event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 & 28, at Sechler Park. Pre-registration is required and costs $25/person, $85/group of 3 - 4; $155/group of 5 - 7; or $185/group of 8 - 12 (which includes dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday morning).

This is a national family overnight camping initiative supported by the National Wildlife Federation. Community Services staff have many exciting activities and games planned for all ages on the Saturday afternoon - including mountain biking with CROCT, Gear ReSource kayaking and The Sportsmen’s Club fishing on the Cannon River, kite-flying, old-time races and relays, a family campfire with stories and music and star-gazing with an astronomy lesson that evening with. On Sunday morning a family softball tournament kicks off after breakfast.

Northfield Public Schools Community Services includes recreation and enrichment programming, Early Childhood Family Education, driver education, KidVentures, EarlyVentures Learning Center, Connected Kids, Middle School Youth Center, Hand-in-Hand Preschool, Adult Basic Education and Project ABLE.
