Gunshot Victim In Northfield: Police Launch Investigation
At Northfield Hospital, police interviewed an adult male who was the victim of a gunshot wound.
NORTHFIELD, MN — Authorities in Northfield are investigating a shooting after a man was shot and hospitalized Wednesday. At about 12:15 a.m. on Sept. 6, Northfield police officers responded to the Northfield Hospital regarding a victim with a gunshot wound.
At about the same time, officers responded to the 400 block of Highway 3 South for a reported suspicious incident. Employees at a business there reported a male had been in the parking lot for several minutes, and when he left, there was fresh blood and a shell casing in the parking lot.
The two reports related to the same person/vehicle, according to police. Northfield and Farmington police interviewed an adult male victim of a gunshot wound. The victim was eventually released in stable condition.

Officers towed a vehicle from the hospital as part of the investigation. At the scene on Highway 3 South, officers collected information from employees and evidence from the scene.
Northfield Investigators also responded and assisted with the investigation. The investigation is still open and active, according to a news release.
