Hiking at Night Program Offered at River Bend

Join a naturalist to explore River Bend Nature Center by the light of July’s full moon at the upcoming program “Night Hike”. The program will take place on Monday, July 22, from 9-10:30 pm.  Participants will learn about nocturnal animals and take a hike on River Bend’s trails experiencing what life is like in the summer after the sun goes down, while keeping a sharp eye out for the night life that inhabits the woods, prairies, and ponds.

While humans are typically sound asleep during the night, many other creatures take advantage of the cool air and increased shelter of the darkness. Exploring the natural world at night lets people see (and hear and smell and feel) many things they would never experience otherwise!

This program is free for members and $2/individual or $6/family for non-members. The program is open to people ages 10 to110.  Preregistration is required for the “Night Hike” program, please visit River Bend’s web site – www.rbnc.org – or call the Interpretive Center – 507.332.7151 – to register.
