Here is a message posted on the festival’s Facebook page on Sunday:

Vintage Band Festival Friends: We've had a wonderful outpouring of financial support during the first 3 days of the festival, but we are still about $10,000 short of our goal. If you haven't sent in your donation yet, now would be a good time!
Go to www.vintagebandfestival.org and click on the "Donate" button, mail your check to Vintage Band Festival/204 W. 7th St./Northfield, MN/55057 or stop in at our headquarters on Bridge Square, hand it to us in person and we'll give you your collector VBF pin on the spot. We accept credit card payments at VBF Headquarters.
Thanks for supporting Vintage Band Festival 2013!

The roughly 100 concerts staged as part of the event were open to the public free of charge. At many of the venues, festival volunteers collected donations in buckets and tubas.
