Kenny Carr and the Tigers Roar at Vintage Band Festival
The North Carolina trombone shout band made a triumphant return to Northfield on Friday night.
North Carolina's Kenny Carr and Tigers had Friday night's audience at the Vintage Band Festival in Bridge Square dancing in the streets ... literally.
A vacant area facing the festival's main stage, which sat on Water Street in front of the Northfield Post Office, quickly filled with scores of dancers moving to the uptempo beat of the jazz/gospel shout band.
With trombone in hand, Carr led dancers in a zigzag march during the group's rendition of the standard "When the Saints Go Marching In."
Friday night's performance marked the second time the Tigers had performed in Northfield. The group played in the second Vintage Band Festival in 2010.
