Olaf College Music Department, Korean Culture Association, and Office of
Multicultural Affairs welcome the Korean
Students’ Glee Club to campus on Monday, January 27, 2014 for a 7:30 p.m. performance in Boe Memorial Chapel. This event will also be streamed live at www.stolaf.edu/multimedia .
Established in 1966, the Korean Students' Glee Club (KSGC)
is composed of college students studying music at various universities from the
Seoul metropolitan area.
Since its founding more than forty-seven years ago, the
choir has toured annually across the nation performing a repertoire ranging
from the Renaissance to 20th-century choral music. KSGC has been active abroad as well touring China, Japan, Canada, the United States, and Europe, visiting Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, the Netherlands, Scotland, and
Slovakia.

After the retirement of Professor Chai, Hoon Cha, the founder and director of KSGC for 45 years, Professor Park, Tong Hie was appointed as
conductor. Professor Park graduated from Chongshin University and Seoul
Theological University. He earned his
master and doctorate degrees from the University of Cincinnati. He is currently
teaching at several universities including Hansei University, and serving as the conductor of Yaebon Choir in Saemoonan church. Under the guidance of
Professor Park, the KSGC received recognition on their concert tours in China, in February 2012.
