Local Cyclist Lin Bruce Featured at WINGS Annual Meeting

WINGS Annual Meeting

Sharing her inspiring story, “Saying yes to the bigger things,” Northfield cycling enthusiast Lin Bruce will be the featured speaker at the upcoming Women in Northfield Giving Support (WINGS) annual meeting. The event themed, “Giving Wings to Your Dreams,” will be held on Saturday, January 17 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Viking Theater, Buntrock Commons, St. Olaf College.

Bruce will recount her own transformation when she began cycling across the United States in honor of her 60th birthday. Patrice Abby, Manager of Community Affiliates for Minnesota Philanthropy Partners, will also speak. There will be refreshments, social time and a short business meeting. The event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

An organization of more than 300 women, WINGS educates and expands the number of women in philanthropy in Northfield, builds and strengthens community through pooled investments, and improves the lives of women and children in the area through focused giving. Since its founding in 2000, WINGS has given more than $650,000 to local organizations. Grant applications for 2015 are currently being accepted.
