Mayo Doctors Perform 'Imagine' To Inspire Hope During Coronavirus
Two Minnesota doctors hope their rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine" helps people stay positive during the coronavirus crisis.
ROCHESTER, MN — Two Mayo Clinic doctors are inspiring tens of thousands with their now-viral rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine." Dr. Elvis L. Francois and Dr. William Robinson posted a video of their performance on Instagram last month, and it has since racked up nearly half a million views.
The two chief residents have played together for years, and the duo decided to post their music as a way of spreading hope during the turmoil of the new coronavirus crisis.
"Music goes places that medicine can’t go," Francois told ABC News. "You can perform the perfect surgery, but that next day — when a patient’s going through rehabilitation or they’re faced with a difficult diagnosis — music is something that speaks to the spirit."

Robinson said they chose "Imagine" because it's a song about "hope and having the world coming together as one." He added that it's going to take everybody "in order to beat this thing and self-isolate and quarantine."
