Minnesota Couple Dies On Iceland Trip
The U.S. Embassy in Iceland called Janet Veit's sister Patrice with the news.

A La Crescent, Minnesota couple was on their first international fly-fishing trip in Iceland last Sunday when they were swept away into moving water. Brian Schumacher fell into the cold lake before his wife Janet Veit jumped in after him.
The couple was pulled from the water but could not be revived.
The U.S. Embassy in Iceland called Janet's sister Patrice with the news.

"There are no arrangements for any services yet as it will take the officials of Iceland and of the U.S some time to process this terrible accident," Patrice wrote on Facebook.
"In a world of wonderful people, Janet and Brian were pretty near the top. They loved their families, their friends, their colleagues, their dogs and cats, and most importantly, each other."

Their bodies will be flown home and services will be held in La Crescent, according to the Star Tribune.
