Here's Patch's rundown of events in Northfield this weekend:
• VINTAGE BAND FESTIVAL, Aug. 1-4: More than 30 band from across Minnesota, the United States and the world will come to Northfield this week and perform roughly 100 concerts. The festival’s website has a wealth information about the event, including: a schedule of events, maps to venues, official program and how to donate and volunteer. Patch also will provide coverage throughout this week.
• OPEN HOUSE AT GOODSELL OBSERVATORY, Aug. 2: The monthly open house at the observatory, on the campus of Carleton College, is planned for 9:30 to 11:30 Friday, Aug. 2.

• THE MUSIC MAN, Aug 2-4: This will be the second weekend of the Northfield Arts Guild’s production of the musical. Tickets are available online at the NAG's website. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
• RIVERWALK MARKET FAIR, Aug. 3: More details of this week’s edition of the popular Saturday morning festival in Northfield are available by clicking here.

• NORTHFIELD ZUMBATHON!, Aug. 3: The second Northfield Zumbathon! is planned for 10:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 3 at Central Park. All proceeds go to the Northfield Youth Sports Collaborative’s scholarship fund. People can register either onlineor at the Northfield Community Services desk in the youth wing of the Northfield Community Resource Center.Registration also is available the day of the event.
• TOUR DE SAVE, Aug. 3: What formerly was known as the Northfield-based Tour de Nick cycling event to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention activities become a national event. Additional information about the race is available on Patch or on the Suicide Awareness Voices of Education–better known as SAVE—website. The event begins at 9 a.m. at Riverside Park. Check-in begins at 8 o'clock.
• BENEFIT BREAKFAST FOR TRAVIS SMITH, Aug. 4: A benefit breakfast for Travis Smith, whose home was destroyed in the July 13 flooding in Dundas, is planned for 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Northfield VFW.
