The Northfield High girls basketball team played a close game Friday night, falling to visiting Shakopee, 43-38.

The Raiders, 11-7 overall and and 2-4 in the Missota Conference, held a two-point halftime lead against their conference opponent. But Shakopee, the third-place team in the Missota with a 4-3 mark, took charge in the second half.

Marla Thomforde led Northfield with 12 points.

The Raiders will host conference foe Chanhassen, the top team in the Missota with a 6-0 conference mark, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
