Northfield Football Friday: Chanhassen Storm No Ordinary 0-4 Team

All three of Chanhassen's Missota games have been close.

LAST WEEK

Northfield (2-2, 1-2 Missota) lost to Red Wing 14-7; Chanhassen (0-4, 0-3 Missota) was edged by Holy Angels 35-33.

• Eric Shepley (Northfield, receiver)

Shepley was far and away QB Jake Mathison's favorite target again last week, with five catches for 90 of the team's 100 receiving yards.

• Ryan McGuire (Chanhassen, quarterback)

McGuire was 14 for 21 for 216 yards, and led his team on a huge comeback bid that fell just short last Friday night.

• Maverick Edmunds (Chanhassen, running back)

Edmunds had a huge game for the Storm, finishing with 87 yards rushing and 95 yards receiving.

RAIDERS WIN IF …

They find balance. Northfield has run the ball well, but needs a little more production from the passing game to keep defenses honest. Last week the Raiders managed just seven points against Red Wing, and it's going to take a lot more than that for Northfield to keep pace with the Storm.

STORM WIN IF …

At this point, it's tough to say what the Storm are going to have to do to get into the win column. A couple of early big plays by Holy Angels put the Storm in a 21-0 hole last week, but after that Chanhassen gave the league co-leaders all the could handle. For what it's worth, Chanhassen—which has lost its first three Missota games by a total of seven points—has to be the best 0-4 team in the state.
