Northfield Hockey Beats Albert Lea, Headed to Section 1A Finals
The Raiders play in the championship game at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The winner advances to the state tournament.

The Northfield boys hockey team is one game away from competing in the state tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
The Raiders beat Albert Lea 5-1 on Saturday in a semifinal game in Rochester to advance to the Section 1A finals.
Andrew Scofield led the effort Saturday night with three goals. Also scoring for Northfield were Colton Woodruff and Logan VonRuden. Woodruff also had two assists.

Northfield netminder Isaak Tjaden made 20 saves.
The No. 3-seeded Raiders had a first-round bye in section play. St. Peter/Le Sueur-Henderson/Le Center/Montgomery-Lonsdale 3-2 on Thursday to make it to Saturday's game.

Northfield returns to Rochester for a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday to face Rochester Lourdes for a spot in the state tournament. Lourdes, the No. 1 seed in Section 1A, beat No. 4-seeded Red Wing 5-3 on Saturday.
