Northfield Man Hurt in Minneapolis Crash

Brett E. Volkmeier, 43, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the Saturday morning crash on Interstate 94.

A 43-year-old Northfield man was injured in a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis Saturday morning.

Brett E. Volkmeier was driving his semi truck southbound on I-94 at 42nd Avenue when he swerved to avoid crashing into a trailer that unhitched from a pickup truck, says a Minnesota State Patrol incident report. The semi rolled onto the highway.

The incident report says Volkmeier’s injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.

A passenger in the semi—Thomas D. Nietzel, 24, of Northfield—was not injured in the 10:12 a.m. crash.

No other injuries were reported were reported, says the incident report.
