UPDATED: Northfield's Riverwalk Market Fair Now Year-Round, Will Begin at Winter Walk

Kathy Zeman of the Riverwalk Market Fair says the fair will not start its winter season on Saturday as originally planned, but rather will begin Dec. 8 at the annual downtown Winter Walk.

Martha Schuetzle’s baked goods are well known to Northfield foodies: rich cookies, flaky croissants filled with coconut cream, mini-quiches with ham or tomato, reads a Northfield Patch story from May previewing the .
Now, Schuetzle can sell her baked goods all year as the Riverwalk Market Fair will now be held all 12 months of the year.
Starting on Nov. 12, the Riverwalk Market Fair will gather from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the on the second Saturday of each month through May, said John S. Thomas, a member of the artists' committee for the fair.
Starting in June 2012, its regular weekly schedule will start again.
In its first two years, the market was held from June through October.
Surrounded by the shops of Northfield’s downtown and the Cannon River, the diversity of vendors, including artists, farmers and entertainers makes the market more of an event and boosts tourism, Schuetzle said.
The hope is that will continue through the winter, Thomas said.
The group is also working to use the Northfield Armoy for this year's Winter Walk.
