Northfield Public Schools Closed Monday

All classes and activities for Northfield Public Schools are canceled for Monday.

The decision comes on the heels of yet another . That took effect Sunday afternoon and lasts until Wednesday. Residents are not allowed to park on residential streets Monday as plow operators make their way through the city.

is also closed for the day.

The National Weather Service doesn't have an official snowfall count for Northfield, but reports say Lakeville received 11.6 inches since the snow started Sunday morning. A report from the NWS early in the afternoon Sunday said Faribault had received 5.5 inces of snow through that point.

Snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain, is forecasted for Monday. As much as 3 inches could fall in Northfield, but it isn't expected to start until the afternoon, according to the NWS.

Wind could reach 22 mph.
