Northfield Seeks to Fille Vacancies on City Boards and Commissions

​The city of Northfield is seeking applicants to fill volunteer positions on several city advisory boards and commissions.

The city of Northfield is seeking applicants to fill volunteer positions on several city advisory boards and commissions, including representatives for the Northfield Area Fire and Rescue Service Joint Powers Board. At the end of December, the terms of several members of the city’s boards, commissions and committees will expire.

Over 100 citizen members annually provide valuable leadership to the city through their participation on these groups and special study committees, according to a news release. Members participate in advisory, regulatory, governance and oversight activities in a wide variety of fields.

Officials say the City Council is committed to appointing citizens who reflect and represent diverse segments of the community.

The application review process will begin immediately. Applications may be turned in
throughout the year, however those wanting to be considered for the openings at the beginning of
2017 should submit applications no later than Friday, Nov. 28.
