Northfield Stabbing: Police Seek Downtown Driver

Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who observed suspicious activity in the Kennedy Court area on Sept. 8.

NORTHFIELD, MN — The Northfield Police Department continues to investigate a stabbing that took place at a residence on Kennedy Court. The victim has been released from the hospital and is expected to recover. Investigators are now hoping to speak to a man who picked up a woman in the downtown area and dropped her off on Kennedy Court, on Friday, Sept. 8 between 10:45 a.m. and 11:30 p.m.

Investigators would also like to speak with anyone who observed suspicious activity in the Kennedy Court area between 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Sept. 8.

Stabbing incident

On Sept. 8 at about 12:15 p.m., Northfield officers and Northfield Hospital EMS responded to the 1800 block of Kennedy Court for a person who reported being stabbed.

At the scene, officers discovered a middle-aged woman who had suffered at least one serious stab wound. She was treated at the scene and the Northfield Hospital before being flown to HCMC for surgery, according to a news release.

There is no specific suspect description, or additional incident information currently available. Police are not aware of any danger to the public. This investigation is open and active.
