Northfield Whiz Kid: Jessica Labenski

Whiz Kids is a new feature that highlights the accomplishments of local kids. This week, we honor Jessica Labenski, who is a published poet.

Know a great kid who made Eagle Scout, is a strong athlete or has demonstrated leadership in school? They may be our next Patch Whiz Kid honoree.

Each week, Northfield Patch seeks suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments. We want to hear about these amazing children and teens and select one each week as the Patch Whiz Kid.

●    Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Jessica's class wrote poems and their teacher, Mrs. Lori Beumer, submitted them into a contest called Creative Communication. Creative Communication is a company devoted to the promotion of writing, teaching and appreciation of student writing. Jessica's poem was received, awarded and is published in February's edition.
