Northfield Woman Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash
A car driven by Sharon J. Hull was broadsided Thursday night at the intersection of Highway 52 and County Road 9. She died in the collision.
A 74-year-old Northfield woman was killed Thursday night when the car she was driving was struck by a minivan at the intersection of Highway 52 and County Road 9 in Goodhue County.
According to a Minnesota State Patrol media report:
Sharon J. Hull was driving a 2008 Kia Spectra east on County Road 9 at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday when she came upon the intersection. Her vehicle cross the southbound lanes of the divided highway, then was struck broadside in the northbound lanes by a 2003 Mazda van driven by Anna M. Hauser, 29, of Galesville, WI.

Hull died in the collision, while Hauser received non life-threatening injuries. A 1-year-old child in Hauser’s minivan was not injured.
The highway was wet at the time of the crash, the state patrol said.

The Highway 52-County Road 9 intersection is one that Northfield residents who travel east know well. It also is known as one of the most dangerous stretches of highway in Minnesota.
