Norway's King and Queen Arrive to Northfield, St. Olaf College

The day has arrived.

Norway's King Harald and Queen Sonja are in Minnesota on an eight-day tour and make a stop today at .

Since their arrival on Tuesday—actually, since it was announced they were coming last month—media and Minnesotans alike were buzzing with anticipation to get a glimpse of Their Majesties.

St. Olaf has a long history with Norway, being one of the few colleges to offer a major in Norwegian. Each year, St. Olaf students study abroad in Norway and each summer St. Olaf students participate in the Oslo International Summer School.

This is the King of Norway’s third visit to the college, the first being in 1965 when he was crown prince and the second in 1995 with Queen Sonja.

If you don't have a ticket, you're not out of luck. Northfield Patch and plenty of other media outlets will be at St. Olaf during Their Majesties' visit. We'll also be sure to give you a roundup of all the coverage from other media.
