Pat Parlin Retiring From Northfield Schools

Parlin served as director of Northfield Public Schools' Alternative Learning Center for six years.

Pat Parlin is retiring from Northfield Public Schools' Alternative Learning Center after serving as director for six years.

"She's been getting really good results and has been able to reach so many students and help them successfully complete the requirements to receive their diploma," superintendent Chris Richardson told the Northfield News. "She's also done a lot to reach out to the neighborhood."

Parlin came to Northfield after 27 years as a health and a special education teacher in the Austin Public School District.

"IΒ couldn'tΒ have asked to work with a better group of teachers and I'm going to miss them and I'm going to miss the kids," she told the paper. "I have put some things into place that I would like to see continue (like the building-wide behavior expectations)β€”not that there isn't room for improvement, there always is--but, I think we have a really solid program."
