PHOTOS: Northfielders ‘Explore the Outdoors’ at Way Park

The Friends of Way Park and other community organizations joined forces on Sunday to encourage residents to get outside.

Considering the previous week’s wintery weather, there was little wonder why Northfield residents made their way to Way Park for Sunday’s “Explore the Outdoors” event.

Sunny skies and spring-like temperatures prevailed over the festival, which was intended to get children and families outside and to their local parks.

Scores of residents neighboring Way Park, as well as residents from across Northfield, turned out for such activities as:

  • Creating paper kites and pinwheels.
  • Planting mini bean greenhouses.
  • Generating green energy.
  • Exploring Way Park with a scavenger hunt.
  • Jumping hurdles, kicking soccer balls and playing soccer.
