Portion of Fourth Street Closed for Tree Planting on Saturday Morning

The City of Northfield was getting some spring planting done Saturday morning.

Fourth Street between Division and Washington streets was closed to through traffic Saturday morning so that a crew from Mulligan’s Landscaping could plant new Armstrong Maple trees.

The trees were replacing trees that were planted as part of the 2010  Fourth Street reconstruction project.

The old trees were removed this past week.

Saturday’s morning work included placing the burlap-covered roots into the ground and watering the trees with a hose attached to a Mulligan’s Landscaping tanker truck.
