Prescribed Burns For City Ponds And Natural Areas In Northfield
If weather conditions and wind patterns change rapidly, Prairie Restoration will not conduct the prescribed burns.
April 21, 2020
Prairie Restoration will be completing prescribed burns on City Stormwater Ponds and other Natural Areas on Wednesday April 22nd, and Thursday April 23rd. During this time, we ask residents to keep their window closed as the prescribed burns can create smoky conditions. If weather conditions and wind patterns change rapidly, Prairie Restoration will not conduct the prescribed burns and they will need to be rescheduled. The areas to be burned include, Meadows Park, the riverbank along Ames Park and Bridge Square, John North Park Pond, Park Pointe Ponds 1 and 2, Prairie Hills Ponds 1 & 3, and the natural areas at the Police Station. Additionally, the Woodley Street Pond and Wetland is being burned this afternoon (April 21). Please refer to the attached document for burning locations and more information about the burns. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Cole Johnson at 507-645-3071. Pond Burning Areas and FAQ’s
