PHOTOS: Northfield Boys Hockey Wins 3-2, Advances in Section 1A Play

The Northfield Raiders came back from a 1-0 deficit to beat visiting St. Peter/Le Sueur-Henderson/Le Center/Montgomery-Lonsdale 3-2 in the Section 1A boys hockey tournament on Thursday night at the .

Northfield, which had a bye in the first round as the No. 3 seed, tied the game 1-1 in the second period and scored two more goals in the third period to stretch the lead to 3-1. The Bulldogs, the No. 6 seed, scored late in the third with the Raiders down a player because of a penalty.

Scoring for Northfield were Colton Woodruff, Kody Beckers and Taylor Freiermuth. 

Isaak Tjaden made 29 saves for the Raiders.

Northfield next plays 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rochester Rec Center in Section 1A semifinal action against No. 7 seed Albert Lea, which upsett No. 2 seed New Prague on Thursday. Northfield beat Albert Lea 7-2 in December. New Prague last year.
