Semi Crashes After Driver Falls Asleep In Northfield: MSP
The crash happened on Interstate 35 early Wednesday.
NORTHFIELD, MN — A Mason City, Iowa man suffered non-life threatening injuries after he crashed on Interstate 35 over Highway 19 in Northfield early Wednesday.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the 75-year-old driver fell asleep just after 2 a.m., ran off the road to the left, struck the metal bridge guard rail, then hit the concrete bridge guard rail. The semi came to rest in the median ditch blocking the left lane of I-35.
Eugene Joseph Casteron was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
