In 2012, the DCSO issued 2,507 permits to carry (PTC) cards. As of June 30, 2013, we have issued 2,484 or 23 less than for all of last year. The increase in the number of PTC has been experienced by Sheriff Offices across Minnesota. In addition to the PTC applications, we have seen a significant increase in the number of renewals in 2013 compared to last year. Needless to say, this dramatic increase in PTC has resulted in the core group working long hours and with help from several others in order to process them within the 30 day deadline. Thanks to Program Services Assistants Julie Fisher, Janelle Mayer, Will Pope, Lynda Jirak, Linda Mischke, Joanna Anderson, Hilary Christie, Ana Estrada, Mary McPhetres, Holly Ruiz, Molu Thachil, Jessica Witschen, and Betsy Winter for all their work in processing the large number of applications. Also, we thank Program Administration Supervisor Steve Anderson, who oversees the work in the unit.
