Spirits Not Dampened at Rain-Delayed Y Kids Tri
Participants, volunteers and spectators show enthusiasm at fourth annual event at Old Memorial Park.
About 170 youngsters participated in a storm-modified Y Kids Tri at Old Memorial Park on Sunday morning.
Even though the fourth annual event—conducted by the Northfield Area Family YMCA—was delayed a day and was forced to abandon the biking portion of the triathlon because of Saturday morning’s storm, participants, volunteers and spectators took the changes in stride.
The youth athletes completed two legs of the triathlon by swimming in the Old Memorial Pool and running on the park’s trails.

Each participant received a medal at the finish line and was photographed on a medal stand.
