Student Volunteerism at St. Dominic School raises funds for Northfield Hospital Breast Care Center, funds matched.

St. Dominic School hosted a special program today to recognize the efforts of the 6th and 7th grade classes who for the last month or so have led the entire school on a fund raising drive to raise money to benefit breast cancer research and care. Anna and Jennifer from the 7th grade class announced that the results of the effort raised $1,020. When presented with the school's gift Kari Elliason, who is both a St. Dominic Parent and the Breast Care Coordinator at Northfield Hospital, and  Dr. Jose Fulco, Center Director, surprised the students by announcing that the money was matched by not only the Center, but the doctors who work there, also. Added to the match from Team Vic-Torious, the final total gift to the Breast Cancer Care Center is now $4,020.00!

The attitude of service and devotion to the community in which St. Dominic serves is a tenant that each student has dedicated part of their learning career toward. The team work between the students and the Hospital illustrate the finer points of outreach, communication and what a few creative minds can accomplish.

Well done kids!
