Susan Perry Memorial Walk/5K Run for the Animals, Saturday, October 5th!
Join us Saturday morning for a nice fall walk or 5K Run. Bring your pet and the whole family! If you do not have a pet join us anyway for a fun time and to raise money for the homeless animals at Prairie's Edge Humane Society!
Susan Perry had a huge love of all animals and was a great supporter and dedicated volunteer of Prairie’s Edge Humane Society. Sue tragically passed away in 2009. She was a long time Northfield resident and employee of Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic. She was generous to people and animals and is missed by everyone who was blessed to have known her. Prior to her death, Susan had been actively working with Prairie’s Edge Humane Society to plan a Walk for the Animals which would be held in Northfield each fall. After her death, it was obvious to all involved that not only should the planning for the Walk continue, but is should be done so in her honor.
Honor the love shared between you and your pet by attending the 5th Annual Susan Perry Memorial Walk for the Animals and 5K Dog Run on Saturday, October 5th, beginning at the Northfield Dog Park along Hwy. 3. (next to Culver's) If you do not have your own pet to bring to the walk, you may just enjoy a walk or run on your own as well!
The run will start at 9:00 AM. The walk will be at your own leisure anytime between 8:30-noon (we suggest you start by 10:30 am in order to finish by noon). We will use the bike path behind the dog park for both the walk and the 5k run (going opposite directions from the park, so as not to interfere with each other). Registration begins at 8:30 AM for both the walk and the run.

Registration for each is $20 for adults, $5 for ages 16 and under, free for ages 10 and under. Ask your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors to donate to your walk or run! Anyone who raises at least $50 will receive one free registration. Anyone who raises at least $50 will also receive a free t-shirt while supplies last! There will be Prizes for Top Adult Fundraiser (age 16 and over) and for the Top Youth Fundraiser (under 16). You must turn in your donations the day of the walk/run in order to qualify for prizes. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Complimentary food and beverages as well as goodies for your pet will be available post walk and run!

All pets must be current on their vaccinations, including rabies.
Join us for a fun time, rain or shine, so dress for the weather! All proceeds will benefit the homeless animals at Prairie's Edge Humane Society.
