Tour de SAVE Cycling Event is Saturday, Aug. 3.
The event, which is intended to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention activities, begins at 9 a.m. at Riverside Park. Check-in begins at 8 o'clock.

What formerly was known as the Northfield-based Tour de Nick cycling event to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention activities has become a national event.

Join the Northfield Bike Club for the 10th annual Tour de SAVE, formally Tour de Nick bike ride through beautiful Rice and Goodhue counties east of Northfield. There are several routes available for everyone, from families to the serious rider. Choose from three ride lengths, 10, 20 and 50 miles; the 10-mile route is perfect for the casual rider and families, The 20-mile route will offer a bit more distance, while the 50-mile route will offer challenging hills and beautiful vistas.
The ride begins at Riverside Park, Northfield at 9 a.m. Riders of all abilities make their way out of town in a mile of silent tribute to those who lost their lives to suicide. Each route will have a designated ride leader to make sure everyone gets off the road safely.

ParticipationThe Tour de SAVE 2013 is open to everyone! Because the ride is a fundraiser, we have a few items to note:
• HELMETS ARE MANDATORY
• All participants must abide by the state and local traffic rules.
• There will be a SAG Support vehicle following the Riders, available to assist those needing medical or mechanical support.

Online registration will close at noon the Friday before the Ride. However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the event site. Please note that donations for this ride will be accepted through Dec. 31, 2013.
