Two Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide in Faribault: Police

Police discovered the bodies of an adult male and adult female at the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce Friday.

Two are people are dead in Faribault after what police believe was a murder-suicide. On Friday at 12:15 p.m., Faribault police officers responded to the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce after a citizen reported seeing two persons down inside the building.

Arriving officers discovered the deceased bodies of an adult male and adult female behind a desk.

No other Chamber employees were present or injured, according a news release. Officers found a firearm at the scene.

The identities of the two dead is being withheld pending notification of family members.

Initial findings indicate no risk to the general public, and the incident appears to be a murder-suicide, according to police. Further information will be released as it becomes available, according to police.

Names of the victims will be released after family notifications have been made.

The Faribault Police Department is being assisted by the Rice County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
