Uber Is Launching In Rochester, St. Cloud, Mankato: Get Free Rides
To celebrate Uber's arrival in three Minnesota cities, the company is offering free rides this weekend.
Uber is officially launching uberX and uberXL in Rochester, St. Cloud and Mankato. Starting Thursday, you can request an Uber ride whenever and wherever you are in those areas.
“I’m excited to formally announce that Uber will launch today. Residents across the community now have the option to push a button and get a ride directly from their smartphone, or be connected with new flexible ways to earn,” Carrol Chang, General Manager for Uber Minnesota, said in a statement.
To celebrate Uber’s arrival, the company is offering free rides this weekend in all three cities, according to a news release.

To redeem your rides, open the Uber app, enter your city’s promo code in the payment section and request a ride:
- Rochester: RIDEROCHESTER
- St. Cloud: RIDESTCLOUD
- Mankato: RIDEMANKATO

- Valid your first two rides up to $15 each way.
- Offer applies to rides within Rochester, St. Cloud and Mankato.
- Offer expires at 11:59pm on 3/5/17.
- Valid for new and current users.
- Discount applied after the trip is completed. See your emailed receipt for confirmation.
- If you don’t see an uberX at first, don’t worry. Availability may be limited at times (Especially while we’re offering free rides). Just refresh your Uber app after a few minutes to request a ride, and you’ll be on your way.
