Watch For Deer: Crash Overturns Semi, Spilling Corn On Highway 169

The Minnesota State Patrol is warning motorists that the overturned load of corn may cause excessive wildlife traffic to the highway.

JORDAN, MN — Both directions of Highway 169 were closed at Delaware Avenue in Jordan, Minnesota Tuesday following a two-vehicle crash that resulted in minor injures and a mess of corn kernels spread across the roadway.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2016 Chevy Silverado pickup truck made a u-turn from south to north in front of a 2000 Kewnworth semi tractor hauling corn. The semi was traveling northbound on Highway 169 near Delaware Ave in St. Lawrence Township of Scott County.

The semi overturned, spilling an entire load of corn onto the northbound lanes of Highway 169. The left lane of north bound traffic will be closed until further notice for clean up of the corn. Authorities are warning motorists that the crash may cause excessive wildlife traffic to the area, including deer.
