Water Main Breaks at Carleton College

is reporting a broken water main near the intersection of College and First streets has stopped water flow to several campus buildings.

Because of the break, no vehicles are allowed through the south entrance at this time.

Carleton Master Plumber Ralph Neil and Northfield Water Superintendent Doug Lien said the break happened about 100 feet north of the College and First intersection and nearby residents weren't affected, adding that Carleton uses its own water system.
